Meet the Teacher
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
My name is Denise Burgess, and I am the Structured Learning Class (SLC) teacher here at ECC.
I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Special Education. This is my 35th year of teaching and 29th year with the ECSE program.
My husband is the Criminal Justice teacher at DPHS. I have two awesome stepchildren, a precious granddaughter and grandson.
I love to play with my dogs, Max and Moxie, read, travel, and keep up with former students.
The paraprofessionals in our classroom are Ms. Johana and Mrs. Caceres. I feel so blessed to have them working by my side again this year.
