Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to the Early Childhood Center (ECC). The motto at ECC is “Learn to Play, Play to Learn”.  Playing and learning go hand in hand at ECC! Our campus was especially designed for the youngest learners in Deer Park ISD.  This beautiful and unique setting coupled with an amazing team of educators creates an optimal environment for our children to thrive.

At ECC, we believe that investing in our children at a very early age can have tremendous impact on their overall development and lay a foundation that will carry into their adult lives.  We provide students with high-quality instruction; we deliver this high-quality instruction through evidence-based practices and provide rich experiences that aid in the development of skills that set them up for future academic success. 

My goal, as ECC’s Principal, is to lead the staff in creating a safe and nurturing student-centered environment.  We are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to give our students the quality education they deserve, so our committed and knowledgeable staff provides a rigorous academic program that stresses high expectations for every child.  We have pledged to use research in order to choose and implement the most effective teaching practices as we endeavor to make decisions that reflect the best interests of our students.  We believe that learning should be meaningful and applicable to real life, and that when children are truly engaged in learning they are self-directed and motivated to strive for excellence each and every day. 

Academic achievement is our primary goal, but we also hope our school is a place where every child feels accepted, supported and valued.   It is our desire that each classroom will have a community spirit where teachers and students learn together, work together, and have fun together in a positive atmosphere of mutual respect. It’s important to us that our students are prepared to be productive citizens, so we also provide a variety of leadership opportunities that will enable them to successfully compete in the workplace of the future.  

At ECC we are very fortunate to have supportive parents who are also determined to do whatever it takes for the success of their children.  Our close partnership with parents most certainly contributes to the school’s effectiveness.  We value your input and participation in helping our school be the very best it can be. As you can probably tell, I am very proud to be a part of ECC.  To our parents, I want you to know that I feel educating your child is a tremendous honor and responsibility.  Please let me know how I can be of service to you and your family.
